Screen Glue was founded in 2013 by world renowned producer Jasper James (former founder of both Wide-Eyed Entertainment and Impossible Pictures.) Jasper has an international reputation for creating ambitious TV projects which combine documentary and drama and attract mass audiences globally. His specialism is using CGI and visual effects to tell stories in completely new ways. At the BBC he made half of the BAFTA winning Walking with Dinosaurs series and series produced Walking with Beasts. He has also won an RTS, 3 Primetime Emmys, a Wildscreen award and many others. Alongside TV, Jasper has also won awards for his work in producing apps with Touch Press, most recently Leonardo: Anatomy made in partnership with the Queen’s art collection, as well as the cross platform title March of the Dinosaurs (app of the week on iTunes.)
Before founding Screen Glue Jasper was CEO and co-founder of Wide-Eyed Entertainment and was behind several ambitious productions including:
- “March of the Dinosaurs” an epic full CGI 87’ story about the dinosaurs of the North Pole and the incredible hardship endured by one young dinosaur in his first year. Now sold into over 40 territories.
- “Dark Matters: Twisted but True” an ambitious series of quirky short dramas which reveal true stories of science going too far. Breakout ratings for Science Channel US.
- “Werewolves: The Dark Survivors” – a 90’ budget feature length drama in a documentary mould following a family of modern day werewolves who are suddenly exposed.
- “Titanoboa: Monster Snake” a glossy 91’ landmark documentary exploring the recent discovery of a prehistoric snake as big as a dinosaur. Ratings internationally were as big as the snake.
Prior to Wide-Eyed he was co-founder and Creative Director of Impossible Pictures creating and producing a string of high-budget international blockbusters for factual broadcasters including: Sea Monsters, Prehistoric Park, Perfect Disasters and extreme geology series Fearless Planet. On its release in the UK Prehistoric Park was the best selling DVD in all categories.
